But Prague has many sides, and you might be surprised to learn that Prague is very child-friendly. Tons of young families live in the city, and that means there are plenty of places that young families visit too.
So what are some of the kid-friendly places in Prague? We did some research and compiled a comprehensive list for you. Let’s get into it.
Children’s favorite restaurants and pubs in Prague
The Down Under
This Australian-themed gastropub is the first of its kind in Prague. Located in the beautiful Vinohrady district, one of the best places to stay in Prague, it is easily accessible by tram from the city center. As an Austrian-themed pub, this restaurant caters mainly to English-speaking expats, tourists and locals who want something different from typical Czech fare.
The Down Under has a friendly atmosphere as well as a kids corner so your kids can play while you enjoy your meal and football. The children’s corner is equipped with interactive toys, games and a jungle gym. If your little ones get hungry, there is also a children’s menu. There are also breastfeeding and baby changing areas for parents who need to change or feed their babies. The Children’s Corner is open from Tuesday to Friday at 4:00 PM and on weekends at 11:00 AM.
Park R.
This kid-friendly place in Prague is located in Vrsovice near Havlikovi Sadi, one of the best parks in Prague. After a day of playing at the park, take them to Park R. for a delicious meal. This restaurant serves European cuisine and also offers a children’s menu that includes spaghetti and classic chicken cutlets. They also offer plenty of wine for adults and soft drinks for kids.
Park R. also provides a relaxing family environment. It is equipped with comfortable seating, an area for children and they can host birthday parties that can be organized with decorations, red carpets and more.
Chiaki Restaurant
This Asian restaurant in Vinohrady is one of the best places for kids in Prague. Known for its Japanese and Korean cuisine, Chiaki has an extensive children’s menu featuring favorites such as gyoza, edamameu and more.
Kids love cartoons, so your little ones will love the anime theme of this restaurant too. They will enjoy looking at the pictures on the walls and maybe they will even make their own. The children’s corner is stocked with colored pencils and paper and origami kits for them to try their hand at. This restaurant is also known for its super clean and welcoming atmosphere.
Tavern Olympos
This Greek restaurant located in Zizkov is family-oriented, just like Greek culture. With 103 tables, there’s plenty of room for your whole family, making it the perfect venue for large gatherings. The menu is full of authentic Greek cuisine, including seafood, gyros and grilled meats, as well as some sweet treats that will appeal to the kids.
Children can play in the restaurant’s garden in summer while their parents enjoy a glass of wine with their meal. In winter, children will love sitting in the conservatory, which has a beautiful view of the garden.
Amuni Slow Food Pizza
Amuni is the first gourmet pizza restaurant in Prague and is owned and operated by a Sicilian, so you know it’s good pizza. Open daily from noon to 10pm, your kids will love this menu. With tons of pizzas, pastas, and desserts to choose from, it’s every kid’s dream. If the pizza wasn’t enough to tempt the kids, they’ll definitely love the authentic Italian gelato. If you want to enjoy a fine Italian meal without taking care of the children, send them to the children’s corner. They will find a small table and chairs, dolls and other games and toys to play with. There is also a changing table when you need to take care of your baby.
Pizza Nuova
This authentic Italian pizza place is located in the heart of Prague and is known as a family restaurant. In fact, it is known as one of the best pizzas in Prague. Pizza is always a favorite with children, but parents will also appreciate the presence of a children’s play corner so they can enjoy their meal in peace.
The play corner is equipped with a small slide, a table with coloring supplies, toys and a TV. On weekends, there is a babysitter in the playground, so you don’t have to watch your kids from the other side of the restaurant. The playground is carpeted and has barred windows so your kids can get fresh air without the risk of going outside.

Located in the heart of Carlin, this upscale restaurant is perfect for fine dining parties such as corporate events, graduations, and more. The restaurant prides itself on sourcing only local ingredients, serving authentic Czech beer and focusing on Czech and Slovak wines. The extensive menu includes specialties such as steaks, pâtés, tartar and more.
The main thing that makes this one of the best places for kids in Prague is the weekend family brunch. Every Saturday and Sunday, starting at 11 a.m., Pohostinec Karlin offers a unique breakfast at an all-inclusive price. Children under 6 eat free, while children between 6 and 12 eat half the price of adults. There’s also a play area for kids if they’ve finished their meal and need to burn off some energy.
Pizzeria Bonaccia – Praha 8
Pizzeria Bonaccia is located in Karlin, so it’s the perfect place to eat if you’re off the beaten path in Prague. Bonaccia can seat up to 100 people, so there’s plenty of room for you and your family while you enjoy pizza, fresh fish and other Italian delicacies. There is also a children’s menu with schnitzel, grilled chicken and basic pasta for the little ones. The wide selection of desserts is also likely to catch your child’s eye.
In the summer there is also a small playground in the garden for the children to enjoy while you enjoy a delicious meal.

Food Lab is located in the Old Town of Prague and is popular with locals and visitors alike. In fact, they are known to have one of the best brunches in Prague. But Food Lab also serves lunch and dinner, has a piano lounge, caters for freelancers and regularly hosts events such as karaoke.
Whether you’re coming for a weekend brunch, some work to do, or a business meeting, leave your kids in the kids zone to keep them occupied. The children’s zone is equipped with video games, a movie theater, a climbing wall and other games and activities. It’s also monitored so you don’t have to worry about keeping an eye on your little ones.

Vejce Dejvice
Dejvice Vejce in Dejvice Vejce serves breakfast every day, perfect for kids with a constant craving for pancakes. For those who don’t like breakfast, they also serve lunch, dinner, cakes and other desserts. Enjoy your meal with one of their signature cocktails, prosecco or a plain coffee.
The space is clean and bright, so it’s the perfect place to start your day. The friendly staff operate with children in mind, so the whole family will enjoy the atmosphere.
Mistral Cafe
Cafe Mistral in the center of Prague is the perfect place to start if you plan to spend the day exploring the Old Town. It is known for its specialty coffee, bright and friendly space, and delicious breakfasts. They also serve a weekend brunch with eggs made several ways, soups, sweets and more.
There is also a children’s corner designed by the owner’s daughter. The area includes a paper house, small table and chairs, lots of toys and a changing table. They also offer a small children’s menu for when the little ones are courting.
Kulaťák Praha 6:
This is a traditional, child-friendly Czech restaurant in the neighborhood of Dežvice. They serve delicious Pilsner beer as well as specialties such as grilled cheese, pasta, fish, meat and more. They also have a kids menu featuring soup, svicova, chicken nuggets and other classics.
Kulatak also has a garden at the back which children can enjoy in warm weather. If you enter the courtyard through the garden, you will find a children’s playground with a climbing wall. While you wash down your meal with a delicious beer, the kids can play and burn off some energy.
Banh mi makers at Letenske namesti
This Vietnamese street food restaurant is known for having the best banh mi in town, as their name suggests. But it’s also home to plenty of crowd-pleasers beyond just banh mi. They also have pho, spring rolls, and more, so there’s plenty for the kids to choose from. They also serve weekend specials and very refreshing lemonades that kids will love especially in the summer.
Once they’ve finished their meal, the kids will also enjoy playing in the children’s corner, complete with toys and games, while you sip on a refreshing drink. The children’s corner is located in a side room that is easily visible from the rest of the restaurant so you can watch them without difficulty.
Local block
Lokalblok is located in the Smichov district and has an extensive menu and a full bar every night. The menu consists of Czech specialties as well as burgers and a few Mexican options. There is also a children’s menu consisting of meatballs, chicken and pasta.
You’ll also notice that there’s a children’s playroom separated from the rest of the restaurant by a wall with windows so you can see inside. The nature of this playroom is that the sound of children playing is low, so you don’t have to worry about your children being loud enough for the whole place to hear.
Bruce and Parliament
Bruxx and Parliament are two restaurants operated by the same owner, located next to each other in Namesti Miru. Bruxx is a Belgian restaurant serving specialties such as Belgian beer, mussels, other seafood and grilled meats. Parliament, on the other hand, is more of a modern Czech cuisine, with specialties such as dumpling varieties and steaks.
Both are kid-friendly with large outdoor seating and friendly staff. However, if your kids haven’t yet developed a more sophisticated palette, the Parliament Kids menu may be more suitable for them. They can choose from soups, meatballs, steaks and more.
There is also a children’s corner that is split between the two restaurants. On weekends, when school is in session, there is also an art program in the children’s corner. If you download the restaurant’s app, you can watch your children in this area through your mobile phone.
