Surgeon Alexander Umnov said that beer lovers have a risk of blood clots, heart ischemia and myocardial infarction.
In an interview with NEWS.ru, Umnov noted that beer addiction develops 3-4 times faster than other alcoholic beverages, such as vodka, whiskey and cognac, and if a person is addicted to beer at an early age, then at the age of thirty he will suffer with serious health problems, even fatal ones.
He added: “Usually, they are not limited to this drink, but beer lovers switch to brandy and other alcoholic drinks and become real drug addicts who need professional help.
He said that beer drinkers suffer from belly (beer belly). Because beer foam contains cobalt, the heart and blood vessels are affected, and “bull heart syndrome” develops, as the walls of the heart thicken and its cavities enlarge, leading to its rapid consumption. These changes later lead to coronary heart disease and pulmonary artery thrombosis (pulmonary embolism). Because of these factors, heart disease mortality is high among beer drinkers.
According to him, due to the rapid absorption of beer and saturation of blood flow, the alcoholic suffers from high blood pressure and varicose veins.
