People travel to Dubai for various reasons. Some do it for the dunes, others for the shopping and still others for the luxury. And almost all of these tourists end up at the Burj Khalifa. So it’s understandable that many aspiring travelers wonder if this building is worth promoting. We explore why it’s such a popular attraction and why you might want to climb its heights. But before that, let’s start with a tip. Tourists traveling to Dubai need visas and valid passports. Before booking a Burj Khalifa tour, make sure your passport is up-to-date by renewing or replacing it.
Now back to Burj. Read on for what to expect when you visit the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
Why is the Burj Khalifa such a huge attraction?
How tall is this building? You may have heard that it is the tallest building in the world. But how tall is it? Well, it’s a staggering 828 meters (2,716 feet) of sight. And if you want to compare it to the Empire State Building, we’re talking about twice as tall. The main reason to tour the Burj Khalifa is to experience soaring over Dubai. After all, from his vantage point, you can see all of Dubai, like a bird’s eye view of the world, as he flaps his wings over the city.

But the view isn’t the only thing that draws crowds to this landmark. Below are some things you probably didn’t know existed in the Burj Khalifa:
1. Enjoy a good meal
Do you like restaurants with good views? It should be easy at At.mosphere, a restaurant in the heart of Burj Khalifa. You can gaze upon the clouds hovering over Dubai as you satiate your hunger with oysters or your choice of meal. And it’s probably more interesting than taking pictures on an empty stomach. Why not have both?

2. Test the speed lifts
A visit to the Burj Khalifa is enough to give most people an adrenaline rush. But if you want to add some excitement to the tour, opt for the high-speed lifts. One even runs at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour. And you’ll really feel its speed as it shoots through the floors on its way to the observation deck.
3. Pass!
OK. Maybe a tour of the Burj Khalifa isn’t enough to awaken your adventurous spirit. Perhaps even high-speed elevators seem like child’s play to you. So how about jumping in? You’ll be 2,700 feet above the ground, which makes for an incredible free fall. Use the right gear and follow safety instructions as it is quite a distance.
4. Reach high
If you’re thinking green, not so much. Instead, the idea here is to enjoy alcoholic drinks at a bar 575 meters (1,886 feet) above the ground. Nothing says loud like enjoying a good tequila while watching the miniatures and people-watching of the 152nd floor lounge. And if you’re up for it, you can enjoy your drink on the terrace, where you can enjoy some fresh air and an incredible sunset view.
5. view the city
And of course, you can always go for the most mundane thing to do: head to the observation deck and gaze at Dubai below your feet. From the 124th and 125th floors, you get such an expansive view of the city that you can get a good idea of the city. And you can top it off with binoculars to view distant areas. Or go to the 148th floor for a better view.
