IPL 2023 Rain disrupts play, CSK’s LSG match called off; Moeen Ali, Mateisha Pathirana and Mahesh Tekshana took two wickets each and bowled brilliantly. Ravindra Jadeja also bowled well with an economy rate of 3.67 and took one wicket.
LSG’s batting failed to put good runs on board but Ayush Badoni played good cricket and scored 59 runs at a strike rate of 178.79 while Puran Nicholas scored 20 runs at a slow strike rate of 64.52.
CSK Spinner Dominance.
In the first innings, the Chennai Super Kings bowlers dominated the entire innings and grabbed some early wickets, thus gaining momentum in the match. In the fourth over, Moeen Ali took advantage of the pitch conditions to pick up the crucial wicket of Kyle Myers and then back-to-back CSK bowlers took wickets from the LSG batsmen.
Mahesh Tekshana bowled a perfect spell and took two wickets at an economy rate of 9.25 while Moeen Ali also had two wickets but bowled a very frugal spell at an economy rate of 3.25.
Mateisha Pathirana took two wickets and Ravindra Jadeja one wicket and he too bowled a superb spell conceding just 11 runs in three overs.
LSG batsmen struggled.
After LSG skipper K.L. With Rahul injured, Manan Vohra came in to open with Kyle Myers, but both got out early, scoring 10 and 14 runs respectively. Lucknow lost their three wickets in the Powerplay and scored 31 runs in six overs.
Their main performers of the tournament, Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran, should also turn the innings into a big one. Nicholas Purana scored 20 runs off 31 balls, but was grateful to stay on the field with Ayush Badoni to form a crucial partnership in a difficult situation.
The two put on a 59-run partnership and took LSG to a respectable total. Ayush Badoni scored 59 runs at 178.79.

This youngster played a phenomenal innings and scored crucial runs for LSG. He is the only batsman to score in this game. Badoni played well against the CSK spinners who seemed to be reeling in Yekana but came up for LSG and Knocked 59 runs with four sixes and two fours. He played a good strike rate of 178.79 and played some good shots in the last few overs.
