Weight Watchers and I both turned 60 this year. Maybe that’s part of my affinity for the plan. As I think about the Weight Watchers program and what it has done for me over the years as a lifelong member and former employee, I realize that one of the things I love most are its members.
I admire the people who do Weight Watchers. They show up and do the work necessary to improve their lives. They are high-class people who often share these admirable qualities;

Refuse to give up, even when the going is slow.
4) Supportive nature. Weight Watchers members often form a supportive community, providing each other with encouragement, motivation, and guidance. They recognize the importance of developing positive relationships to help them on their journey. You can witness this at workshops, in the WW Connect area of the WW APP, and in any number of Facebook groups.

How to be successful at weight watchers
The focus of Weight Watchers is “how to”. you learn a variety of skills and you change a set of habits. The important thing, I think, is to look at Weight Watchers as a long-term change in your life. You will follow this path for the rest of your life. It’s not a diet. It’s a permanent change in how you eat.
Here are some proven strategies to ensure your success:
Include a wide variety of Zero Points® foods in your diet. The Zero Points® food menu is extensive, offering many delicious options that you can enjoy without restriction. Not only are these foods satisfying, but they’re also helpful on your weight loss journey because they keep you full and help you reach your goals.
Humble yourself by drinking plenty of water. Water is an important component of any diet and it provides many benefits such as promoting weight loss, reducing fatigue and improving digestion. If you need help, here are 25 tips to increase your water intake to help you out.
Take the time to plan your meals and snacks. Although meal planning may not sound appealing, it can be very effective, especially for a diet like Weight Watchers. Set aside an hour on the weekend to plan your meals and snacks for the week. My archive of Weight Watchers Meal Plans can help. Create a WW-friendly grocery list based on your diet and make sure you stick to it. It’s also important to avoid going to the grocery store hungry, as this often leads to poor food choices.
Make smart substitutions when you get cravings. Cravings are normal, especially when starting a new diet. Weight Watchers encourages satisfying these cravings by finding healthier alternatives. For example, if you want something sweet, choose a delicious fruit. When you’re craving something salty and crunchy, opt for popcorn instead of chips. Looking for snack ideas? Here are 24 healthy snack ideas to support your weight loss goals.
Use your slow cooker for convenient and healthy meals. Just because you’re focused on eating healthier and cooking more doesn’t mean it has to be complicated. Your slow cooker is a fantastic tool to use, especially when you have a busy schedule. I’m such a big fan of this device and think the Slow Cook Yourself Slim is possible. Here you will find a huge collection of easy healthy slow cooker recipes.
Engage in enjoyable physical activity to stay active. Exercise doesn’t have to be limited to traditional methods like running or weightlifting. The key is to replace exercise with play. Think about fun activities like swimming, pilates, yoga or cycling. To make it more fun, invite your friends for a long walk in the morning or after you drop the kids off at school.
Save SmartPoints for special treats. One of the great aspects of Weight Watchers is that it helps you understand the impact of your favorite foods on your overall diet. Unlike other diets that eliminate these indulgences entirely, Weight Watchers allows you to roll over points. If you have diligently followed your plan all week and have extra points, treat yourself to something sweet. It’s all about finding a balance, and who can resist a nice slice of cake?
It is possible to lose weight without giving up the things you love.
Weight Watchers, now known as WW International, is a popular weight loss and health program that has been around for six decades. The program’s success lies in a combination of effective weight management strategies and a supportive community. Although there is no secret behind Weight Watchers, several factors contribute to its effectiveness.
A science-based approach. Weight Watchers is based on scientific research and evidence-based strategies for weight loss. The program emphasizes the importance of creating a caloric deficit by consuming fewer calories than you burn, a fundamental principle of weight management.
unit system. Weight Watchers uses a unique system called Points, which rates each food based on its nutritional composition. Foods that are higher in calories and lower in nutritional value have higher scores, and healthier foods have lower scores. This system encourages members to make more nutritious food choices while allowing for flexibility and moderation.
Flexibility and customization. Weight Watchers recognizes that the weight loss journey is unique. The program offers flexibility by allowing individuals to choose their meals within their assigned Points budget. This promotes sustainability and makes it easier for people to adopt healthier eating habits long-term.
A supportive community. Weight Watchers places great emphasis on creating a supportive community of like-minded individuals. Members can attend in-person meetings, virtual meetings, join online communities, and receive support from trained coaches. A sense of community fosters accountability, motivation, and the sharing of advice and experiences.
Behavior change strategies. Weight Watchers recognizes that successful weight management requires more than simply following a diet plan. The program includes behavior change techniques such as setting realistic goals, tracking progress, and emotional eating. These strategies help members develop a healthier relationship with food and make sustainable lifestyle changes.
Integration of physical activity. Weight Watchers encourages regular physical activity as an important component of weight loss and overall well-being. They provide guidance on incorporating exercise into daily routines and offer a variety of resources to support members in adopting an active lifestyle.
